I wouldn't expect that of, say, a single dev releasing his second lovecraftian survival horror turn-based rpg. Even if some devs/publishers will throw in a bone for the owners of their previous work (usually in the form of a discounted bundle), I guess it makes less financial sense for smaller teams to do it, especially if the game is already cheap to begin with.
